My
House
My
House (2005) is the first video game level I’ve created
for a gallery space. Using a modified version of the Unreal computer
game, I’ve modeled a detailed recreation of my childhood home
as fully-navigable computer-generated environment. Having called
upon an amalgamation of dog-eared family photos and thirty-year
old memories for reference, I’ve tried to re-construct, in
a dream-like manner, a 3-D environment for the viewer to explore.
As a central icon I focused on my 7th birthday party, which you
can see prepared in the kitchen, and I created a number of drawings,
arcade graphics, and a custom chenille letter with this logo. The
game level is playable via a custom-made arcade machine.
